Now I understand the literal meaning of the phrase, "pounding the pavement." It wasn't exactly pavement, but it was straight up concrete and, in four days, I walked almost 100k steps over it. Which amuses me since I didn't think I was going to get many steps in at all for my usual 10k a day challenge.
This year, I worked Fan Expo and was once again placed in a new position. Last year I was assistant exhibitor manager. This year, I managed the green room. This was great for many reasons, but alas, I was bound to my location and only briefly got to see the show floor and visit with friends.
My position meant I had to dress somewhat professionally, but that doesn't mean I couldn't have me some fun along the way. I got to make use of my corset and scarf collection for some Wonder Woman, Emma Frost, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn stealth cosplay.
Though I didn't get out much this year, after 17 years, it really doesn't matter what I do at Fan Expo, whether volunteering, working, visiting, or helping my friend at her booth, I always have a blast. This year was definitely no exception.
