Plans are coming together for the upcoming 24-hour Extra Life charity gaming marathon on November 2, 2013. With the help of Digitaltempest, there will be streaming, there will be flailing, and there will be gaming for a good cause.
Many of my friends and I consider ourselves gamers, so we’re looking forward to the opportunity to share that fun with kids in need at the children’s hospitals of our choice. Last year, Extra Life raised more than 2 million dollars to help kids and we hope to beat that this year.
I’m a regular contributor to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and I was pleased to see them at the recent Fan Expo Canada, promoting this event. My daughters have, thankfully, not needed the services of this hospital, but my heart goes out to those that do. I believe in Sick Kids Hospital and the care, efforts and research they put into bringing far more than smiles to the lives of sick children and their families.
We’re hoping for your support to help us reach our goals. Donating online is safe and easy! To make an online donation please click a participant's name at the bottom of our team page, and then click the "Support This Participant" button. Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids.
Or, if you're a gamer too, join our team and spread the word! (Don’t be intimidated by the time frame – as long as your gaming marathon is complete by the deadline, that works too.)
